as well as是用就遠原則。當用作主語的成分后面跟有由but，except，besides，including，like，along with等引出的短語時，謂語動詞習慣上要與這些結構前面的主語保持一致(即與比較遠的那個主語保持一致,簡稱“就遠原則”。

1、在傳統(tǒng)用法中，as well as并不等同于and。我們知道，在not only A but also B的結構中，語義上側重B，而在A as well as B結構中，語義上側重A，所以，一般翻譯成“不僅B，而且A；既B，又/也A”。例：
